Trailer: Butter (2011)
Another 2012 autumn release is the comedy “Butter” by Jim Field Smith (She’s Out of My League) starring Jennifer Garner (Valentine’s Day) and Olivia Wilde (Alpha Dog). “Butter” is the second work of Jim Field Smith, former member of the popular British sketch comedy group and current director of Idiotlamp Productions advertising company. And the screenplay is the debut of the writer Jason Micallef.
The storyline takes place in annual butter sculpting championship in Iowa (in trailer we can see some outstanding examples of butter carving works). Laura Pickler (Jennifer Garner) participates in the championship instead of her husband (Ty Burrell), ex-butter carver pro, and she’s craving to win the first prize at any price (who knows why?). But having won the contest, she’s being asked by her husband in a very impolite manner to step down. Then Laura decides to involve into the game a 12-year-old orphan, a butter sculpting prodigy… And at the same time she tries to fight her husband’s lover Brooke Swinkowski played by Olivia Wilde.
Oh, that’s interesting – family squabbles, carver-wunderkind, championship and… butter…
Besides the names mentioned above Jim also invited Hugh Jackman and Alicia Silverstone that sounds nice and intriguing.
World release is scheduled for October 2012.
Let us be ready for watching and prepare some Butter for carving exercises.
